Netofa DOR
Netofa
Winemakers Notes
This is the current release of Netofa’s flagship wine, currently their only varietal red wine. Produced with the winery’s estate-grown grape variety in a given vintage, this 2017 is a Syrah, whereas the 2016 was made from Tempranillo. The Netofa Dor 2017 shows the distinct characteristics of Lower Galilee’s Syrah. Dark ruby red towards garnet in color. The nose shows notes of ripe cherries, dried strawberries, leather, smoky wood, and freshly brewed coffee. Full-bodied, with a velvety texture, with on the palate ripe red fruit, black olives, Mediterranean herbs, savory mushrooms, medium acidity, with lush tannins as well as hints of vanilla and espresso that linger on the long, rich and mouth-filling finish. Generous, scrumptious and flavorful now but will keep evolving over the coming decade.
